Watch as Luke Rockhold trains to defend his title for the first time against former champ Chris Weidman at UFC 199!
Luke Rockhold was the final Strikeforce middleweight champion. The UFC purchased StrikeForce and in the process acquired their contracts as well, which added the dynamic middleweight to their roster. He debuted against Vitor Belfort (when Vitor had a TRT exemption) and lost in the second round by wheel kick, but since has rebounded by going 5-0 including his last fight over Chris Weidman where he captured the middleweight title.

Most fans had thought that Rockhold would just be an average top ten fighter when coming over from StrikeForce. But after years of hard work and determination he is now as the UFC middleweight champion of the world getting the respect he truly deserves.

About Luke Rockhold:
Luke Skyler Rockhold is the current UFC Middleweight champion of the world. He won the title on December 12, 2015 by defeating prior champion Chris Weidman via 4th round TKO. He was also the last Strikeforce Middleweight Champion. He is currently ranked the #1 middleweight and #3 official pound-for-pound fighter by the UFC and other publications like Fight Matrix. Luke is also an ardent surfer and skateboarder.
Rockhold is known as one of the most well-rounded fighters to ever enter the Octagon. His signature striking techniques are a counter right hook, liver kick and question mark kick (which he usually throws off the front leg.) Rockhold draws his fight inspiration from very different hobbies mainly surfing and skateboarding. He claims to have a surf-skate stance rather than a boxing stance. He holds a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and spars at American Kickboxing Academy with UFC champion Daniel Cormier (LHW champion), Cain Velasquez (former HW champion), Ruslan Magomedov and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
