UFC 269 medical suspensions: Sean O'Malley and three others could be sidelined for six months

The full list of the UFC 269 medical suspensions have been released to MixedMartialArts.com, and they include a couple of top-15 bantamweight talents.

UFC 269 took place in Las Vegas, Nevada’s T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night. The event featured two title fights. In the co-main event, history was made when Julianna Pena ended Amanda Nunes’ reign as bantamweight champion by submission and handed the Brazilian her first loss in six years. In the headliner, lightweight king Charles Oliveira successfully defended his title for the first time by submitting former interim champion Dustin Poirier in the third round.

All four fighters made it through their hard-fought matchups without incurring major injuries.

Sean O’Malley and Pedro Munhoz could be out for the next six months

However, 135-pound fighters Sean O’Malley and Pedro Munhoz were two of the four competitors that could be sidelined with injuries from their bouts on the card. “Sugar” beat Raulian Paiva by technical knockout in the first round of their main card opening matchup. O’Malley will need his right hand and thumb checked and cleared before he can return to action before June.

Munhoz came up short in his preliminary fight against former division champion Dominick Cruz. He will need orthopedic doctor clearance on his right foot before he can set his next Octagon booking.
