On December 12th of last year, Conor McGregor faced off against former featherweight and pound-for-pound king Jose Aldo.

After almost a year a build up to the fight, it only took The Notorious a whole thirteen seconds to knockout Aldo and capture his first title.

Now only four months after obtaining his first UFC championship, we are two and a half weeks away from rising star Conor McGregor challenging for his second.

He will be taking on the reigning and defending lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, who holds wins over Anthony Pettis, Donald Cerrone and Nate Diaz. If Conor wins, he will make history by being the first fighter to simultaneously hold two belts in the UFC.

Conor has even made claims that if he wins this fight that he would like to move up to challenge for his third belt, the welterweight title. Holly Holm will also be defending her belt that night against perennial contender Miesha Tate. Holm upset Ronda Rousey last November by knockout, making her the second UFC woman’s bantamweight champion in the history of the promotion.

This will be Miesha’s second chance challenging for UFC gold, having picked up a 3rd round submission loss in her first attempt to Rousey. Dana White has gone on record saying that Ronda Rousey will comeback to fight the winner of UFC 196’s bantamweight title fight.

Will someone finally shut up the big mouth of Conor McGregor? Who will be wearing the bantamweight belt when Ronda comes back to reclaim it? No matter who you are cheering for in the main or co-main event, this will surely be a night of fights for the history books.

Don’t forget to order UFC 196 on pay-per-view March 5th, 2016.
