At UFC 194, Jose Aldo will finally square off with Irishman Conor McGregor in what is surely the biggest fight in the history of the UFC’s featherweight division.
The promotional monster that is Zuffa is hyping for their next big event, UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor, but sometimes fan-made promos can be awesome. Especially when they take the biggest fight of the year and add the excitement of the new Star Wars movie ‘The Force Awakens’. YouTube user ‘Mike Fight Promo’ took the idea and ran with it creating this awesome promo for UFC 194. The promo features promotional content set to the background music of the new movie.
The event takes place December 12th in Las Vegas and Conor McGregor vs. Jose Aldo is one of the most, if not the most, anticipated fight of the year.
Jose Aldo is undefeated in the UFC’s Octagon with seven wins and furthermore has only lost one fight in his career, but that was more then a decade removed from this fight. He is the only ever UFC featherweight champion, having inherited it when Zuffa folded the WEC into the UFC.
Conor McGregor is also undefeated in his UFC career since debuting in early 2013. McGregor is a perfect 6-0 in the Octagon and has finished five of those six fights. His overall professional mixed martial arts record is 19-2 and dates back to 2007.
The two were originally scheduled to fight at UFC 189 in July in Las Vegas, but Aldo withdrew from the event with a rib injury, less than a month before the event. Former title contender Chad Mendes stepped in as late replacement to fight McGregor for the interim title. After a dominating first round, Conor McGregor stopped Chad Mendes by strikes at the very end of the second round to claim the interim featherweight title.
