UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate has previously offered positive comments on WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump’s run for the White House. In an interview with TMS Sports, Tate explained why.
“I wouldn’t say that I’ve supported him,” began Tate. “I would say that I maybe like the idea of a Republican, just for the simple fact that we’ve had two Democratic. You know. Simple as that.
“But honestly, we do have one thing in common – he’s not a Ronda Rousey fan. … He’s said it. He’s tweeted it out before. … That’s one thing he’s got going for him, if I can give credit where credit is due – He’s not a Ronda fan.”
Trump did in fact make a nyah nyah tweet after Rousey lost her title to Holly Holm at UFC 193 on Nov. 15 at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia

The number of figures in MMA who support the presumptive Republican nominee now includes:
•Miesha Tate
•Tito Ortiz
•Dana White
•Chris Weidman
Fighters who are not impressed include the two most popular figures in the sport:
•Ronda Rousey
•Conor McGregor
Rousey has been the most vocal figure in her condemnation of the Queens-born casino owner. CNN asked Rousey to comment on what the interviewer said was Trump’s ‘MMA style’ campaign.
“I wouldn’t vote for him,” said Rousey. “I wouldn’t trust the guy with running my country, that’s all. I’m not going to get into the specifics of it. But I don’t want a reality TV star to be running my country.”
