When it comes to excitement in MMA, nothing beats when a huge knockout blow lands. Over the course of the almost 25 year history of the UFC, it is hard to imagine exactly what the hardest blows ever landed are but in this clip from UFC Now the hosts count down their top 5 most powerful strikes ever landed.
Both hosts, former UFC fighter Kenny Florian and current bantamweight contender TJ Dillashaw (alongside Jenn Brown) agree on a couple fights which are hard to argue with. Both of their lists include Rashad Evan’s stunning knockout over UFC hall of famer and former light heavyweight champion Chuck ‘The Iceman’ Liddell.

This fight from all the way back at UFC 88 in Atlanta, Georgia ended in an extremely brutal knockout where the legend Chuck Liddell was left unconscious for quite a while. Rashad hit him with a massive overhand right hay maker that would have knocked out just about anybody.
Another fight featured on both Kenny’s and TJ’s list was Dan Henderson’s epic knockout of current middleweight champion Michael Bisping from UFC 100. A more perfect punch has probably never been landed since and likely never will. Bisping was circling the wrong way into Dan’s power hand which amplified the damage that much more.
The follow up shot Dan landed after was almost just as brutal and absolutely unnecessary given how perfect the last punch was. It probably would have been even more epic to just stylishly walk off after landing the first one but on the other hand it’s the fighters job to keep going until the referee pulls you off.

Another brutal knockout featured is Gabriel Gonzaga’s brutal head kick KO of Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic at UFC 70. Some would argue Cro Cop was never the same after that but would eventually go on to avenge that brutal loss 8 years later.
