As flashy and exciting as a KO to someones head can be, there’s something very satisfying about a beautiful finishing strike to the body. Crafty fighters over many years from the likes of Bas Rutten to Anderson Silva have taken the opportunities to literally take their opponents breathe away, crumbling fighters who have the sturdiest of chins to the canvas in an instant.

On this edition of UFC Now, host Megan Olivi is joined by analyst and former title contender Kenny Florian and welterweight fighter Kevin Gastelum as they each break down their Top Five body shot finishes in mixed martial arts history.

Between the three of them there were two examples that were near unanimous across the panel.

The first of which occurred at UFC 153 when Anderson Silva moved up to the light heavyweight division on short notice to take on Ultimate Fighter runner up Stephan Bonnar. With the end of round one nearing, Anderson finished the longtime veteran with a flying knee to the solar plexus. This would mark the first and only time Stephan has lost via knockout.

The second example was the infamous finish of Donald Cerrone by Anthony Pettis at UFC on Fox 6, which saw Pettis home in on Cerrone’s liver with laser accuracy and deliver the kill shot to end the contest at 2:35 of round number one.
