Ronda Rousey made mixed martial arts history when she became the first fighter to ever host the comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live on January 23rd. Rousey had become the biggest star in the history of mixed martial arts and had already started crossing over to movies with roles in The Expendables and Entourage.

UFC President Dana White has remained steady in his opinion that Rousey is the biggest star in UFC history, but it is clear that UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor is starting to become a main stream cross over star and remains undefeated in the Octagon. McGregor created a viral sensation with athletes and celebrities for this famous strut after defeating Eddie Alvarez. Recently it was announced that McGregor would have a cameo on HBO’s hit series ‘Games of Thrones’.

And last night on the long running Saturday Night Live, the show spoofed McGregor and poked fun at him in a skit featuring WWE’s John Cena as Patriots player Rob Gronkowski:

Host Charles Barkley, played by Keenan Mitchell, poked fun at McGregor’s penchant for $10,000 suits and recent purchase of a $350,000 Rolls Royce. Mitchell as Barkley said McGregor needed to get a Roth IRA.

“I’ve been in the IRA since Protestants moved into my neighborhood,” Moffat as McGregor quipped.

In the skit, WWE wrestler John Cena, who was hosting the episode, played New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and “SNL” castmate Bobby Moynihan playing golfer John Daly.

Later, Mitchell as Barkley refers to Moffat as McGregor as an “angry little Leprachaun” after an inappropriate answer to a question about a stripper.
