The main event of UFC 193 featured Ronda Rousey defending the women’s bantamweight title against Holly Holm at Etihad stadium in Melbourne, Australia. It reportedly drew the largest audience in UFC history, with some 55,000 spectators.
The first round started off with Rousey trying to stalk down her opponent and Holm landing punches while moving away. Holm got the better of the exchanges and landed some solid punches on the champion.
Rousey was able to take the fight to the mat and did go for an armbar, but Holm was able to defend and get back to her fight. Holm even took Rousey down later in the round and it was arguably the first round Rousey had ever lost in her career.
Holm went right back to work to start the second round and landed a punch that wobbled Rousey, shoved her to the ground, and followed up with a left high kick to the neck that left Rousey unconscious on the mat. Holm pounced and land a few punches before Herb Dean jumped in to end the fight.
Official Result: Holly Holm defeated Ronda Rousey by KO (Kick, Round 2, 0:59)
