Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion is the most famous fighter in the history of mixed martial arts. And she has starred in multiple movies. And has a New York Times best selling autobiography. As such, she is subject to an enormous amount of media, including a massive amount of photoshop image retouching to make her appearance ever more compelling to millions of people.
However, a recent doctoring of an image did not sit well with her.
An image of Rousey was recently posted on her Instagram, thanking everyone for helping her look sharp for an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. However, when Rousey had time to look carefully at the image, she realized she did not just look sharp, she looked fun house mirrored, in some misguided attempt to make her look more like a size 2 model.
Rousey declined to blast who ever it was that stretched her out, but it appears to be someone from NBC Universal, rather than her team. First, the an NBC Universal copyright on the image. But more importantly, her entire team is well aware of her struggles with body image as a teenager, and her desire to promote a healthy, athletic body image. She pointedly put on weight for a Maxim cover for example. The last thing on earth her team would do is misguidedly make her look like as much like a stick figure as possible.
