On the undercard of UFC Fight Night 82 in Las Vegas, Diego Rivas landed a vicious flying knee that put his opponent down and out for the knockout win. A couple follow up punches were an exclamation as the referee jumped in to end the fight.

Round 1 – Rivas misses with a big right hand and then pokes Lahat in the eye as he tries to avoid the counter and push his opponent away. Lahat has to take a break, but he’s able to fight on. Lahat with a low kick on the restart. He slips under a punch and scores a tripping takedown, settling into top position. Rivas turns to escape, and Lahat looks for the guillotine from the top. Rivas signals he’s OK, and Lahat continues to try and adjust his grip. He’s in mount, but he can’t get the squeeze. Lahat eventually has to let go. Rivas scrambles to half-guard. Rivas gets wrist control and looks for the armbar. Lahat lifts him and slams out of the hold and then slips around to the back. Just dominant work so far. Rivas turns to his knees. He rolls, but Lahat grabs an arm-triangle and looks for the finish. Rivas again signals he’s OK, and Lahat wisely moves back to mount. Rivas tries to escape, but Lahat again on the back. Rivas scrambles up and pulls free. Lahat locks in a guillotine as they slam to the floor, but Rivas pops out again. Lahat finishes on top and takes the round on the MMAjunkie card, 10-8.

Round 2 – Rivas has a high kick blocked to start. He leaps forward with a flying knee, and it lands on the button. Lahat slowly wobbles to the floor, and he’s out cold. Brutal finish.
