Whether you love him or hate him, you have to admit Nick Diaz sounds like a very cool person to hang out with.

UFC fighter Nick Diaz is a very polarizing figure in the world of mixed martial arts, to say the least. An excellent boxer and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter, Diaz is famous as much for his in-cage feats as for his out-of-cage shenanigans. Start a brawl post-fight on national television? Check. Fight his opponent in the hospital? Check. Avid cannabis user? Check. Nick Diaz’s escapades have earned him a very loyal fan base, but many critics as well.

Nick Diaz’s frank, brash persona makes him a relatively big draw in the UFC. His interviews are now somewhat legendary, and almost as anticipated as his fights. His fans tune in to see him win, his haters to see him get crushed, but Diaz leaves virtually no one indifferent.

Whatever your opinion on Diaz may be, you have to admit the guy has a big heart though.

The following footage shows Nick Diaz and a friend of his meeting a homeless man in California. Nick Diaz asks what’s up with the man, who reveals he has no rib cage since he was involved in a violent shooting when he was still a kid. The man then proceeds to show off his rib cage. (Fair warning, that part is rather gnarly.)

Nick Diaz seems to be touched by the guy’s story, who by the way has what might just be the most brutally honest begging sign ever. Diaz then proceeds to give the homeless man a stack of cash before wishing him well and taking off.
