Confidence is a great thing. It allows you to take on challenges a person who is lacking in the confidence department would not be able to, and it is crucial in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts where you risk having your head ripped off or your limbs broken at any given second.

MMA journalist and video editor Michael Mardones, also known as ‘LayzieTheSavage’, does NOT lack confidence in his fighting skills.

But remember how I said confidence is a great thing? Well it is, until a little thing called ‘reality’ smack you boldly in the face. Nick Diaz easily defeated Mardones three times, as a straight armbar, a leglock and a choke did the job.

Not discouraged in the bit, Mardones then decided to challenge Ronda Rousey, probably thinking the task would be easier since she’s a woman… Nope. Wrong idea!

Rousey literally ragdolled him around the cage, making Mardones’ grappling experience with Nick Diaz seem like a walk in the park!

Mardones would end up having been submitted left and right by Rousey and gasping for air, totally exhausted.

Props to Mardones though. This is someone who can definitely say he knows what he’s talking about when he talks about MMA and I myself don’t know if I would have what it takes to challenge Nick Diaz AND Ronda Rousey!
