Shortly following his epic :13 second knockout of Jose Aldo at UFC 194, Conor McGregor joined the UFC on FOX broadcast booth to reflect on the fight.

Jon Anik: The undisputed UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor, you did it. Congratulations.

Conor McGregor: Thank you so much Jon. I appreciate that.

Jon Anik: I mean is it possible to put into words what you are feeling right now after doing what you just did?

Conor McGregor: Honestly, I’m feeling calm, composed. I’ve been saying all week, I’ve been trying to embrace everything that’s going on here. Yesterday at the weigh-in, I didn’t want to get off that stage because the last time the whole MGM was filled up, I was off the stage and I was like ‘that was something special and I didn’t even embrace it’. So this week I wanted to embrace every single emotion and every feeling and just take it all in. And that’s what I’m doing. The Irish fans come out again. We broke the gate record once again. The parties that have been going on all week, I’ve been watching videos and seeing all the posters and flags. It’s humbling for me to have my people here to support me and I’m very very grateful.

Daniel Cormier: Well there was partying on the airplanes that got turned back to New York city. They were partying the streets in Las Vegas. Conor, watching you walk to the Octagon that night, as an athlete, I go ‘how is this guy in the middle of 18, 17 thousand people going against a guy that had won ten years in a row undefeated’. What are you feeling as your making that walk to the Octagon?

Conor McGregor: I’m feeling confident. Confident in my preparation, confident in what I’m doing, confident in my soul that I have every sequence, that I can answer every sequence. That it will only take one clean shot and I will be victorious. That’s it.

Brian Stann: Conor, I’ve gotten to talk to your coach a little bit and your camp. You’ve criticized other people’s traditional training for mixed martial arts. All fast, no drills, oversparring. You’ve slowed things down, focused on techniques, and timing. Is this a correct assessment. Do you believe this is why you were able to so quickly out strike Jose Aldo tonight?

Conor McGregor: I wouldn’t say all the way cause you wouldn’t want to go too far doing nothing. Don’t get me wrong. I still spar, I still do it all. But I think, especially fight week, your not supposed to damage your body. Everyone was saying when I brought in Ido to do the movement drills, it was all kind of funs and games but it’s fight week. You are supposed to be free in your movement. Your not supposed to enter into any kind of…your elbow shouldn’t be a target, your knee shouldn’t be a target, your heel. You should be supple and free. When I woke up today, I was like ‘I’m ready, I don’t have no…’ You know when you have something thats hurt, it’s in your brain and it travels down. I didn’t have that. I had complete freedom because that was the training that paid off for me.
