Former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway will be featured on a stacked and legendary fight card at UFC 300, a big stage he’s accustomed to. As someone who has been on the center stage in epic rivalries with Jose Aldo, Alexander Volkanovski, Dustin Poirier, and Conor McGregor, Holloway has fought the who’s who of the UFC and bet on himself while doing so.

When he steps inside the Octagon at UFC 300, Holloway will face off against former interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje with the BMF title on the line. This will be his second attempt at a high-stakes fight at 155-pounds, previously having moved up to challenge Poirier for the interim lightweight title but he would come up short in a decision loss.

For many fans who know the names Holloway and Gaethje, this is not only a fan favorite, high-stakes matchup, but it features two men who proudly represent the UFC on a historical night. Whether he’s the ‘Daddest Man On The Planet’ or potentially the next ‘BMF’ title holder, Max Holloway was built for these moments.

He’s previously attempted to fill-in on short notice and challenge former undefeated champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, and now is taking on one of the most dangerous strikers the UFC has ever seen. Holding his own in the striking department, Holloway will need to beware of the leg kicks from Gaethje as well as a relentless pace that he should be able to match.

Notably, Holloway has set plenty of records in the featherweight division for his strikes landed and attempted on multiple occasions. Although he would come up short each time in his trilogy against Volkanovski, Holloway is no easy fight for any opponent.

Moving up in weight will present a healthier Holloway, but will also present quite the challenge in Gaethje, the BMF belt, and the potential future of a high-profile win in the lightweight division.

This fight won’t just be for the fans but it will be for the future of the division as well. With Gaethje, Poirier, and Charles Oliveira all having been part of the title fight picture in recent years, the injection of Holloway to the division presents not only a new challenge, but plenty of prize-fight opportunities moving forward.

Whether or not any legitimacy is seen towards the ‘BMF’ belt, Max Holloway was built for UFC 300, a marquee night featuring marquee fighters in which the promotion was built on. Add up all the possibilities that await him if victorious and what a win over Gaethje would mean, not only is he Blessed both so are the fans and everyone involved in Holloway’s reemergence at 155-pounds.
