The UFC Vegas 40 weigh-in took place today from inside the same venue as tomorrow night’s event, the UFC APEX. Fighters on the Oct. 16 card took to the scales and all but one fighter made weight for the 11-bout card. Middleweight Julian Marquez was not allowed to weigh in by the commission due to a non-COVID-related health issue. His main card matchup with Jordan Wright has now been canceled.
This latest installment of UFC Octagon violence is headlined by a featherweight matchup when Norma Dumont takes on short-notice replacement and ranked bantamweight talent, Aspen Ladd. Ladd enters the bout having missed weight for a planned bout at UFC Vegas 38, and makes her promotional debut at 145-pounds.
UFC Vegas 40 on Oct. 16 kicks off with preliminary action at 4 pm ET, and is then followed by the main card at 7 pm ET. The entire event airs exclusively on ESPN+.
