In Last Fight, This Fight, Next Fight, we take a look at the two fighters in the co-main event of the upcoming UFC fight card in Australia. You’ll get a crash course in what happened in each of their last fights, a preview of what might happen in this fight, and a prediction of who they’ll fight next depending on who wins and loses.
In the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 85, #9 ranked American Neil Magny takes on #13 ranked Hector Lombard from Cuba.
In Neil Magny’s last fight……he won a tight split decision over The Ultimate Fighter winner Kelvin Gastelum in a Fight of the Night performance. Neil Magny has 10 wins in the UFC and an overall record of 17-4.

In Hector Lombard’s last fight……he won a unanimous decision over Josh Burkman. The result was eventually overturned due to a positive steroid test by Lombard. He was suspended for 1 year for the failed test. Hector Lombard was the Bellator Middleweight Champ before coming to the UFC and has a record of 34-4-1.

In this fight……we can expect Neil Magny to try to keep it standing while looking to stick and move. Hector Lombard’s gameplan will be to slow Magny down with body shots, try to clinch, and work for the takedown. If the fight doesn’t go to the ground, Lombard will probably start looking for power shots with Magny landing the larger volume of strikes.
Prediction: Magny by unanimous decision
