In the main event of UFC 195 Carlos Condit and Robbie battled for five rounds in an absolute war. It was one of the best UFC welterweight title fights ever.

Lawler was coming into the fight off his first title defense, another absolute war with Rory MacDonald which he won in the fifth round. Condit proved in this fight he belonged to be there and for five rounds looked as though he might have done enough to win. Condit outlanded the champion the entire fight with a much higher volume of punches, but it was Lawler who landed the harder punches more often.

When it was all said and done, two of the three judges scored the fight for Lawler and he retained his UFC welterweight title. The official scores are below:

The judges’ decision was controversial and a lot of fans and a lot of fans on Twitter believed Condit had won:

1. I feel bad for Lawler’s brain.
2. Condit won that fight.
3. Judges and refs suck in this sport.

Derek Brunson @DerekBrunson
IMO Condit won 1,3,4. Lawler won 2,5. That was a amazing effort in the 5th by Lawler. But judge the fight and instant rematch it!!!!
