A fight pitting two of the brightest up-and-coming middleweights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, in Jordan Wright vs Julian Marquez, is in the works for a Fight Night event in October.

Jordan Wright vs Julian Marquez going down in October

The pair is a combined 21-3 in mixed martial arts and neither fighter knows a win that wasn’t a finish. That makes the pairing of Wright (12-1) and Marquez (9-2) a fan-friendly affair that will reportedly go down at a planned UFC event on October 16.

MMAJunkie first broke the news that the bout was on the books for the fall.

Wright went full-on Tasmanian devil and finished Jamie Pickett in 1:04 in an all-attack first round at UFC 262 in May. It was his eleventh first-round finish in 12 career victories.

Marquez, a man who has grown a great deal in popularity from his post-win interviews, submitted both Sam Alvey and Maki Pitolo in his last two fights. The two fight win streak follows a layoff of more than two years from a major back injury to “The Cuban Missile Crisis.”
