Chuck Liddell is the man who brought mixed martial arts to the mainstream. He is the former light heavyweight champion, and earned 13 knockouts, in 23 fights, a record for the league.

He also has probably the most famous tattoos in mixed martial arts.Liddell’s ability inspired a number of fan tattoos, but we are a little dubious about the veracity of this one, to be honest.

This one though, is all Iceman.

This fan was so excited when the UFC came to Halifax, NS, that he got it inked on his arm forever, with an outline of Liddell throwing his arms out in victory.

This guy did the same thing.

We don’t know what this guy did, exactly. it’s a tattoo of a guy with a tattoo, on a guy.

The origins of Liddell’s head tattoo goes back to 1992, when he was getting ready for a Slayer concert, and decided to do something crazy.

“Matt suggested I get a Mohawk,” he recalled in his autobiography. “I thought, cool. That was the extent of the conversation… I figured that it wouldn’t be too long before I had to get a real job and grow it out, so why not enjoy it until I graduated? That was my reasoning when I decided to get my head tattooed as well. I chose the Japanese letters that spelled Koei-Kan, my karate style, which means House of Peace and Prosperity. I wanted the tattoo to be somewhere everyone could see it without me having to take off my shirt, but also in a spot where I could hide it once I started interviewing.”

Liddell graduated with a degree in accounting, but never really got around to the square life. Liddell still trains, but is retired as a fighter, and currently serves as the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Vice President of Business Development.
