The Diaz brothers are well known for their weed smoking, trash talking and relentless fighting style inside the cage (and sometimes out of it) but you may be surprised to learn that they are also vegetarians, with on and off periods of being vegan as well.
In the following video television chef, personality and BJJ blue belt Anthony Bourdain is joined by Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz and Gilbert Melendez for dinner on his show ‘Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.’

Growing up in Stockton, California the Diaz brothers daily diet wasn’t that much different from any other kid growing up in California.
“Macaroni and Cheese, Hotdogs, Top Ramen”
For Nick though the dietary change came out of necessity as he was progressing in the early stages of his fight career.
“I stopped eating land animals period, eating seafood on and off, but I’ve been vegetarian since I was eighteen years old. I thought it’d be better cutting weight, I ended up nice and light and got stronger. Once [Nate] started fighting pro, he started doing the same [diet].”
