Real Madrid forward and Portugal national team captain Cristiano Ronaldo is on vacation in Las Vegas following his team’s Euro 2016 triumph, and paid a visit to UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor’s training camp. McGregor is of course training hard for a rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202 on August 20, 2016 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The visit was chronicled on the latest episode of The Mac Life.
“My brother Ronaldo dropped by the gym today. He is an animal,” wrote McGregor. “Great to see you bro.”
Every mindful of the money, McGregor referenced Ronaldo’s appearance at the top of Forbes’ 2016 World’s Highest-Paid Athletes list.

“Thank you @cristiano, much respect!” wrote the extraordinarily ambitious Irishman. “I will see you for that Forbes number 1 spot next year.”
‘Notorious’ broke into the list this year at #85, with $22,000,000 in income over the past 12 months. Forbes estimates the breakdown at $18 million from fighting in the UFC and $4 million from endorsements. It represents an incredible increase in income.
McGregor made his UFC debut vs. Marcus Brimage at UFC on Fuel TV: Mousasi vs. Latifi on April 6, 2013. He won via strikes in 67 seconds, earning an extra $60,000 Knockout of the Night performance bonus in the process.
The week before, he had been on welfare.
I’m just happy I won $60K, said McGregor. I’m just thinking on what I’m going to spend it on. I’ll buy myself a car any way. A nice car, maybe some suits or something. Custom made suits, I don’t know.
Just last week I was collecting the social welfare, you know what I mean? I was in there saying to them like, ‘I don’t know what going to happen. I’m signed to the UFC. I don’t know what….blah, blah, blah.’ But now I supposed I’m gonna have to tell them to f*** off!
Wonder what the pay per view numbers would be for this fight?
This is not McGregor’s only celebrity pal. ‘Notorious’ also shared an image with popstar Jennifer Lopez, and wished her a happy birthday, with the caption “What a woman! What a night!”
