The UFC Vegas 29 card opened with a high-paced action-filled bout between Casey O’Neill and Lara Procopio. On the feet, they fought in close and in the proverbial phone booth, and on the mat both worked for advantages. Be it off their back or from top-position. However, as the fight wore on, the Aussie seemed to gain an edge in energy and output over her Brazilian foe. O’Neil was a problem for Procopio to hold down on the mat in the second round, and by the time the third rolled around, “King” started to apply her own grappling talents on her Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt opponent.

A couple of minutes into the third round, that extra gear the 23-year-old had started to show, as she scored a nice trip takedown, worked to back control, and sunk in a fight-ending rear-naked choke. Putting Procopio to sleep, and earning a second straight finish in the Octagon. O’Neil stays unbeaten in the UFC after two outings and shows she is a talent on the rise in the women’s flyweight division.
