When two fighters weigh-in at over 230 lbs. and both put on four ounces glove, you can never know for certain who will win because it can end with any punch and tides can change in an instant.

In 2014, former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Alrovski returned to the UFC and quickly picked up two impressive wins. He was then slated to meet Travis Browne, one of the division’s top prospects, at UFC 187 in Las Vegas. Most thought Browne would be the first real big test back in the UFC for Arlovski against a younger bigger opponent, who had plenty of big knockouts on his record.

What result was maybe the best round in UFC heavyweight history. The two had also actually spent some time training together at Jackson’s MMA.

The fight starts off with both fighters keeping their distance and picking their shots. Arlovski lands first, a right hook that hurts Browne and brings on a swarm from the former champion, but Brown survives. The two go back to feeling each other out, but throwing big shots.

Arlvoski lands another big shot to Browne and stuns him again, but again Brown recovers. Arlovski builds up some steam and gets more aggressive, and yet again lands another huge shot that rocks and drops Browne. Another flurry by Arovlski, but in the middle he is hit with a Browne counter punch that drops him to the ground. Browne tries to pounce with a flurry of his own, but Arlovski is able to survive. Despite being hit hard and dropped, he is the fresher opponent.

Arlovski stalks down Browne and starts to unload with punches, elbows, and kicks. A couple more punches including a big uppercut and right hand puts an end to the fight.

Official Result: Andrei Arlovski defeated Travis Browne by TKO (Strikes, Round 1, 4:41)
