Anderson Silva was new to UFC fans debuted against Chris Leben at UFC Fight Night 5 in 2006. Leben was a hard headed veteran who most thought would pose a considerable challenge to Silva. Silva blew Chris Leben out of the water with a first round technical knockout. Silva announced himself to the UFC in dramatic fashion.
Following his debut versus Chris Leben, Anderson Silva would go on to become the greatest middleweight in the UFC winning fifteen straight bouts. He captured the middleweight title by defeating Rich Franklin at UFC 64 in 2006 and did not lose the title until seven years later against Chris Weidman.
Not only was Silva the champion, he was the most dynamic and devastating fighter on the roster, winning fights in incredible fashion.

What is your favorite technique? I love to stand up and exchange, but I also really enjoy fighting on the ground too.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? My team and I are very excited to fight in the UFC. I’m training very hard to make my presence known in the U.S. and the rest of the world.
