Armenian talent Arman Tsarukyan only needed two minutes to dispatch Christos Giagos at UFC Vegas 37.
Tsarukyan was a -800 favorite heading into his bout with Giagos and made oddsmakers look like geniuses. The pair felt each other out over the first couple of minutes until the Armenian caught a kick from his opponent and countered with a quick left hand that floored the American. “Ahalkalakets” quickly jumped all over his foe and hammered away with a bombardment of punches as Giagos tried to get back to his feet.

Unfortunately, he was unable to survive the onslaught and seemed to be knocked out just before the referee jumped in to stop the action with 2:51 left in the opening round.

The victory was the 24-year-old’s first stoppage win since his last bout outside the UFC in 2018. Tsarukyan has won three straight following a hard-fought debut loss to fifth-ranked talent Islam Makhachev two years ago.
The loss ends a two-fight win streak for “The Spartan,” and is his first defeat by knockout in five years.
