Anderson Silva is the greatest fighter in UFC history. Although currently on suspension for failing a Performance Enhancing Drug test, ‘The Spider’ has hinted at an April 2016 return, perhaps against Britain’s Michael Bisping.

Bruce Lee is one of the most influential martial artists in history, the man he freed martial arts from the classical mess, and demonstrated that truth lies outside all fixed patterns.

They never met – Anderson Silva wasn’t born until two years after Lee’s passing. But like countless stars in combat sports and martial arts, Silva grew up idolizing Lee.

And he watched his moves enough times that he could imitate ‘The Little Dragon’ with near eerie precision.

In an interview with Brazil’s estadao.com.br, Silva said he wouldn’t have fought Lee.

Who are your idols?
Anderson Silva: The biggest is Bruce Lee. I especially like his philosophy. But I’m also a fan of Muhammad Ali and Roy Jones Jr.; (they) are guys for whom I tip my hat. Outside of combat sports, I would say Michael Jordan, Pele, and Ronaldo. People think I say this because of my contract with 9ine, but it is not. It was long before Ronaldo fan.

Would you have faced the Bruce Lee?
Anderson Silva: No. .. I would like to have known him and to have had lessons with him. But I would not risk a fight with Bruce Lee, no.

I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.
-Bruce Lee
