It has been said that Batman mastered every martial art in the world. Thus is should perhaps come as no surprise to hear that his fight style in ‘Batman v Superman’ was heavily influenced by the UFC. Mixed martial arts of course began by pitting exponents of different martial arts styles against each other, to find out what works. So it in a very real way, MMA is the best of the world’s martial arts.

“It is a little bit more of a brawler, more physical,” said Affleck to Reuters. “You kinda get the feeling of a more physical, visceral, slugger thing. The fights are more smash mouth, UFC-influenced, Conor McGregor style.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a follow-up to 2013’s Man of Steel, and the second installment in the DC Extended Universe. It is the first live-action film to feature both Batman and Superman, as well as the first theatrical film to feature live-action portrayals of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and the Flash. Costing a reported $400,000,000, it is on pace to gross $165,000 it’s opening weekend.

UFC featherweight chamoion Conor McGregor has no affiliation withBatman v Superman, but former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre does have a connection to a superhero movie, albeit one from the Marvel rather than the DC universe. GSP played Batroc the Leaper in Marvel’s 2014 film Captain America: The Winter Soldier. St-Pierre and was in a lively fight scene with Chris Evans, and helped advise the fight choreographer during the filming of the scene.

McGregor is in fact moving away from Hollywood and focusing appropriately on his fight career. The Irishman was offered a role in his friend Vin Diesel’s xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. However, he was withdrawn from the film.
