Let’s be up-front about it – you’re not going to be witnessing world class striking skills in this street fight encounter, but the classy reaction from the eventual winner is worth it’s weight in gold.
It appears that these two young men were looking to settle a dispute with their fists as they squared up to each other bare-chested in the middle of the road. Wild haymakers start flying, but most of them miss the target.
The guy in the blue-shorts sticks his chin out and then leans back to avoid the punch that inevitably comes his way from his opponent in the black shorts. He counters with a left hook followed by a right hand that lands to the back of his rivals’ head, but in return he’s caught by a flailing backhand to the face.
While the two continue to engage, what appears to be their girlfriends are arguing in the background, which distracts blue-shorts momentarily as he tells one of them to, get away from her, resulting in him being knocked off balance by a slapping left-hander from black-shorts.
They continue fighting, but soon after blue-shorts once again shows a surprising level of awareness and concern for what’s going on around him by breaking away from the scrap for a moment to separate the two women.
With the two females now on opposite sides of the road, blue-shorts gets right back to business. He wades forward with a left hook that misses the target, but an overhand right behind it lands with a crack, dropping black-shorts to the concrete so hard that one of his trainers comes flying off in the process.
All too often in a street fight situations like this, with no referee to intervene, we’d see the still-dazed individual on the ground get hammered with completely unnecessary punches and kicks.
Thankfully that’s not the case here though as blue-shorts immediately stops fighting and actually shows genuine concern for his downed opponent as he goes to check on him.
He helps him back to his feet (though truth be told he should have been left on the ground to recover) and even supports his still-wobbled rival and dusts of his back as he leans up against a nearby car trying to regain his senses.
Of course the best outcome would have been to settle their differences verbally rather than physically in the first place, but the young gentleman definitely earned respect for the way he conducted himself in victory, and that act of kindness may well do more to end the apparent bad blood between them than landing the knockout punch.
