Nate Diaz is one of the most beloved fighters in the history of the sport, due to his profound authenticity in a sport where personas and beefs are so often contrived. When Diaz beefs it is as real as it gets, and he doesn’t shy away from it. Unsurprisingly, his friends from the 209 are similar in approach.
Diaz is of course a fighter, who fights in fight events. And sometimes he fights at fight events, too. He infamously brawled at the Nashville Brawl. Got into it with Khabib Nurmagomedov and co at a World Series of Fighting show. And more recently he was removed from the Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva.
Nate also has a penchant for throwing water bottles. Conor McGregor got it at a UFC 202 pre-fight conference in 2016. And it just happened again. Diaz was at a Misfits Boxing 6 on April 21st in New Orleans, to support his teammate Chris Avila who was on the card, and chucked a water bottle at reality series star Chase DeMoor.

Diaz, it must be said, has a pretty good arm. He then exited the arena and ended up choking out a Logan Paul lookalike named Rodney Petersen, whose social media profile is @not_logan_paul_.
Video of the melee was published by social media influencer JiDion, who is not a major MMA fan, as indicated by his lead in tweet: Broooo I’m f***ed up and Nate Diez choked out my homie.

Diaz and Petersen can be seen facing each other, and then the camera cuts away. When it returns, Diaz has applied a guillotine choke, and throws a knee to the body. Not that it would matter much, but Peterson has no idea how to escape the hold, and appears to have no idea what it even is. He is unconscious in seconds. Diaz then releases him, and Peterson falls backwards unconscious, with his head hitting the ground in unpleasant fashion.
A lot of street fights have ended with death due to a head hitting the ground. So it’s best to only punch your friends, in the gym. A video from influencer Keemstar showed that Peterson suffered a gash on the back of his head. Could have been a lot worse.

Petersen wrote on his social network that he was only trying to break it up.
“Got attacked by Nate Diaz,” he wrote. “Wtf, I was like, ‘Bro, chill’. He was like, ‘I [hear] someone say kill?’”
DeMoor also appeared to get into with Nate’s friends.

Fan reactions were varied. In a series of tweets, McGregor indicated he was amused:
•Hahaha Nate on a rampage tonight! Let’s go Nate! Hahaha
•Lovely little knee to the body hahahaa
UFC president Dana White appeared taken aback to a degree.

As referenced previously, Not Jake Paul did not appear to know how to get out of the choke. And Jake Paul created a video on the technical steps to escape it.

And DeMoor continued the vitriol the following day.

Diaz boxes Jake Paul on August 5 at American Airlines Arena in Dallas. It will be his first paid contest since testing free agency late last year.

Diaz plans to return to the UFC after the boxing Paul.
