The backstory to the video below seems to be one that high schoolers around the world can relate to: one person says something derogatory about another to a group of friends and that comment eventually and inevitably makes its way back to the person who is being talked about. The larger guy in this video was obviously the guy being talked about and he is less than thrilled about the ordeal to say the least.

The smaller guy does what most people do when confronted with a situation as such and backs away by keeping his mouth shut. In an incident as such, where the gentleman who was being badmouthed is visibly upset and becoming more and more aggressive as time passes, the smaller man must figure out a way to diffuse the situation and do so as quickly as possible.
Growing up, a friend’s father, who was an avid martial arts enthusiast, once told a group of us boys that under no circumstances should you initiate a fist fight however; if the situation ever arises you should always throw the first punch; this will catch your opponent off guard and increase your chances of walking away successfully.
What we see below is the effectiveness and truth in such advice. While not a David vs. Goliath match up per se, there is a clear size distinction that can be made here and the aforementioned advice from my friend’s father seems to be a distinct course of action that should be taken…as my other friend’s father would drunkenly advise to us… hit’em when they least expect it boys! (And yes, I seriously hope you just read that in your best Mick from Rocky voice).
