This story is one small part of a big effort by MixedMartialArts.com to understand what works; the process is to study what happens on the street, or in this case in the strip club, rather than what happens in the arena. Check out the library on:

Syracuse, NY’s Wyatt Lozano is 6′ 3″ tall and weighs 365 pounds; that’s 100 pounds more than the heaviest weight division in the UFC. A competitive natural powerlifter, he works out with a 451-pound dumbbell, and can flat bench 550 pounds. He started bouncing in 2004, when he was just 16.
“Juggernaut” has a scar on his back from being stabbed while working the door at an exotic dancing establishment named The Bada Bing; he finished his shift before going to the hospital. The incident also left him with two ice picks stabs over the heart.
Lozano’s voice makes Darth Vader sound like PeeWee Herman, and his mere presence alone tends to maintain order; he’s what he calls a “Showpiece” Bouncer. He does personal protection and works as a bouncer where it pays best – strip clubs.
And he’s a genuinely sweet person. The poetry-writing son of a college professor, Lozano has a strong instinct to protect women. In the video immediately below, a customer was removed from the women’s bathroom; instead of apologizing, the fool challenged Lozano to a fight. There are several important rules in life, and one of them is that when the bouncer is wider than your biggest friend is tall, apologize after barging into the women’s room.
Probably due to strong drink, the man in the white shirt forgot the rules. Instead, he repeatedly berates the bouncer to step outside, and that’s just where Lozano deposited him.
And no, despite rumors, sadly, that door does not open to the second floor.
In a video profile below from Syracuse.com, Lozano ejects two unruly patrons, and details his philosophy about protecting patrons, women especially.
“I’m here to keep people safe,” he explained. “I’m not here to hurt anyone. The hardest part of my job is when you have to do it, when you have no other choice.”
Then he narrates what happened. Spoiler, he carries them like infants, and the second appears to hug him back.
“These guys were being abusive towards women who work at the bar,” he said. “They were smacking them. The owner gave them a warning. The owner wants their money at the end of the day. And they did it again. That was it.
“I’m a protector overall. I was raised that way, especially women need to be protected. They give life. We don’t. So that’s something very special. No one should ever disrespect them.”
Lozano also believes everyone should exercise in some way, and not just for health.
“Nowadays, everybody wants to rely on guns to defend themselves,” he said. “You need to train something to really defend yourself. You’re not always going to be able to grab a piece of machinery to be safe.”
“There are nights I don’t go to bed. If something really bad happened, I’ll stay up all night and hit the gym early. It’s how I deal with everything.”
