For thousands of years various martial art styles have emerged from all over the globe, some are highly specialised while others are a bit quirky. So for someone wanting to start their martial arts journey it can be a bit daunting to figure out which style to start training in. Some people can figure out rather quickly their style is martial myth whereas other students can spend their entire lives in a system only to realise it’s not what it’s cracked up to be.

In this techniques segment, BJJ black belt Stephan Kesting of grapplearts.com breaks down two of the worst martial arts techniques he has seen him 30+ year martial arts journey.

The first technique he demonstrates is how you defend yourself against a baseball bat from a man wearing a gi in the street. As he breaks it down he reveals how to break the baseball bat with your bare forearm as well as how to transition to a spinning kick to finish off the attacker.

The second technique Stephan demonstrates reveals how to use the deadly knife techniques of Ninjutsu to defend yourself against a man wielding a rifle.

If you have actually been able to apply any of these techniques in a real situation, let us know.
