In this video, Kfir Itzhabi, a combat instructor and former member of the IDF elite counter-terrorism unit, neutralized a knife-wielding terrorist in Israel.

Israeli police recently awarded him a model of honor and bravery for having neutralized the terrorist who had just stabbed several people at a bus station in Jerusalem in 2015.

The soldier, who was in civilian clothes at the time was able to chase down the suspect and neutralize him. The whole time he keeps a safe distance to avoid being stabbed himself until he can make a move.

Kfir Itzhabi: I’m in my car, on the other side of the road, when suddenly I see the central bus station being cleared of all the people. At that moment, I heard shouts and understood it was a terror attack.

I got out of the car and looked for where the event happened. I located the terrorist as he was stabbing people. I recognized that he was running in a quick and aggressive manner….and stabbed the older woman.

She immediately fell and then I did not doubt this was a terrorist. And I decided that I was going to give chase. I chased him a slightly closed the gap, and then I noticed he went and stabbed more people. It apparently was their intent to escape. I understood that actually the responsibility for their lives was in my hands in the moment.

I already understood that I am about to get stabbed in some way or another. I took that into consideration and I shouted him so he would turn towards me.

He turned toward me and there was a 1/100th of a second he looked toward me to see what I was about to do. I attacked him with a push kick. He flew back a certain distance. And from that moment on the table was turned. He fled into the store. There I took what was available in order to hit him and injure him. Simultaneously I notice he was starting to weaken, he started to lose it.

I pounced on his knife hand and disarmed him and choked him until he passed out. At the same time, other people joined in.
