Things got really, really, really, really, really different when Jonathan Ivey fought Travis Fulton in the main event of Colosseum Combat 45 on Saturday, June 30, in Kokomo, Indiana.

Jonathan Ivey fought Travis Fulton in the main event of Colosseum Combat 45 on Saturday, June 30, at Kokomo Event and Conference Center, in Kokomo, Indiana. Two guys from the Midwest with a lot of fights fight in the Midwest. That seems pretty normal. However, this fight was different.
First, Jonathan Ivey has a massive record of 32-56 in a sport where the UFC champion with the most fights is Demetrious Johnson, with 30. And Fulton has a record of 253-54. That’s a combined 395 fights, more fights than every UFC champion put together.
The next one is really, really different – Ivey has a Travis Fulton tattoo. He’s a big fan.

The next one is really, really, really different. It involves the most important thing in mixed martial arts – set ups. If you don’t set up your attack, you are setting yourself up for a counter. Ivey’s set up was faking a heart attack. That may be a first.
And it worked. That’s really, really, really, really different. But wait, there’s more.
As ‘The Leg Lock Monster’ was finishing the fight via Ground N Pound, he suddenly stopped, walked away, and tapped out. That’s really, really, really, really, really different

“I know a lot of people don’t understand what happened tonight,” said Ivey afterward, with a degree of understatement. “I would rather give up my heavyweight title than hit a guy I have looked up to for 20 years while he is unconscious. I didn’t want to keep inflicting pain on him unnecessarily. I’d rather give him the belt.”
These things happen in mixed martial arts.
