UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley knows that the window of opportunity in mixed martial arts is short, so he is looking for money fights. He was still in the cage after defeated Robbie Lawler when he called out division G.O.A.T. Georges St-Pierre or hardcore fan favorite Nick Diaz.
#1 contender Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson was adamant that he alone deserved a title fight; UFC president Dana White agreed. However, Demian Maia put on such an extraordinary display of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu vs. Carlos Condit at UFC on Fox 21 on August 27 that he too potentially moved into title shot contention.
Maia took Condit down, took his back, and choked him out, all in under two minutes, taking just one punch in the process. The Brazilian is now on a six-fight win streak, and has been hit just 13 times in the last four fights. His Jiu-Jitsu is so good that he showed a dominance not seen since Royce Gracie was tapping people who didn’t know what an armbar was.
However, on his latest Morning Wood with Deez Nuts podcast, Woodley revealed that he has a game plan should Maia get a shot and try to take back mount.
