Following Wednesday’s loss of headliner and head coach Shane Carwin due to a knee injury, “TUF 10” vet Matt Mitrione has stepped in as his replacement.

He now meets Roy Nelson next month in the headliner of The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale.

Officials today announced verbal agreements are in place for the fight. Mitrione was slated to fight Philip De Fries at the year-end UFC 155 event. However, according to officials, De Fries will get a new opponent.
