Wis. gov signs martial arts, home canning bills

MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Jim Doyle has signed a bill establishing new regulations on mixed martial arts fights into law.

The state Department of Regulation and Licensing will govern the fights the same as professional boxing contests and issue licenses for promoters.

Doyle also signed a bill that allows home food canners who sell less than $5,000 of their products to operate without a state license.
