On the FOX Sports 2 prelims of last Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 40 in Cincinnati, OH, Johnny Eduardo beat Eddie Wineland via KO (strikes) at 4:37 of round 1.

WIneland, 29, suffered a broken jaw, had surgery on Wednesday in Chicago, and has his jaw wired shut. A full-time firefighter in Northwest Indiana, for the next six weeks, Wineland can neither train nor work.

A doctor recommended he reassess his fighting career.

The last time his jaw broke, it was something like a ten-month recovery.

I’ve got some serious thinking to do. I’m just not so sure the juice is worth the squeeze. I just need to take a step back and look at the big picture.
