On your very first day of mixed martial arts training you learn a very, very important lesson – keep your hands up.
At the UK’s Combat Challenge event, amateur Matthew Batty was being outstruck early by opponent Adam Wraith. Batty however kept his chin down and his hands up. In contrast, Wraith threw care to the wind and dropped his hands in a wild flurry.
The result? Fight was over in 15 seconds, for the winner Matty Batty.
In another surprise, the referee is believed to be former Duran Duran band member Nick Rhodes.
