White working on Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort II
UFC president Dana White on a rematch between Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort: “That’s the fight. I know. I don’t disagree. We’re working on it.”
UFC G.O.A.T. Anderson Silva comes off suspension for PED violation in February of 2016. Some fans wanted to see a rematch with Nick Diaz, who is also suspended for an as yet unknown period of time. However, UFC president Dana White has other plans.
Then middleweight champion Anderson Silva front kicked Vitor Belfort’s lights out in the main event of UFC 126 in 2011. It was one of the great KOs in UFC history, and made the cover of a UFC video game. It also raised Silva’s PPV drawing ability. And the rivalry between the two fighters is credited with raising interest in the sport in Brazil.
UFC president Dana White appeared recently on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, when Rogan said that was a fight he wanted to see, White agreed.
“That’s the fight.” said the boss.
“I know. I don’t disagree. We’re working on it.”
White said Belfort is in agreement. He did not reference Silva’s interest one way or another, but the fight is a natural.
