They say getting to the UFC is the easy part. Staying in the UFC is the hard part. The best way to make sure you stay in the UFC, of course, is to just keep winning. But fighting hard and putting on a great show goes a long way, especially with UFC President Dana White:
He’s 0-3, and he’s not going anywhere, White said after the event. He took the Robbie Lawler fight on short notice, and tonight he was busted up and keeps moving forward, keeps trying to win.
In that three-fight series, Voelker displayed the toughness that earned him a UFC contract. It’s also earned him a reprieve for now.
We don’t cut guys like that, White said.
