White talks CM Punk, plus the ‘pussification’ of America
“I like CM Punk,” said UFC president Dana White of the WWE superstar. “He’s a great guy. It’s a little late to get in the game, who knows if he can fight?”
WWE superstar CM Punk, 35, recently declared he was walking away from pro wrestling. He had also spoken recently about trying mixed martial arts, so at a UFC 169 media scrum, UFC president Dana White was asked about the wrestling coming to the UFC.
After all, it worked out pretty well for Brock Lesnar. However, it was news to White.
“I was with him all night in Chicago and he never said anything to me about it,” said White. “I like him, he’s a great guy. It’s a little late to get in the game, who knows if he can fight?”
“He hasn’t said a word to me. He hasn’t reached out to me, he never said a word about it. He just showed up, we talked about lot’s of things, fighting was not one of them.”
White also discussed the dangers of contact sports.
“we’re all gonna get hurt, we’re all gonna die someday,” he said. “It gets so crazy and overplayed – ‘it’s dangerous, that’s dangerous.'”
“To get rid of youth football? That’s ridiculous. It’s insane… My son Aiden broke his arm on the monkey bars at school – ban monkey bars. People are going to get hurt. It’s part of life. You know?”
“The pussification of America, that’s what I keep talking about man.”
