“I never thought I’d say this, but I’m really excited for that fight,” UFC president Dana White told MMAJunkie. “I’m really excited.”

“You know what I’ve always said is that the divisions aren’t deep enough, but when real good girls are fighting each other? That’s an exciting fight, and I’m excited for it.”

“Let’s just say the first Strikeforce fight didn’t go the way I wanted it to go,” White told MMAjunkie.com in January. “When you get into a deal where the network controls what goes on, controls the production, controls everything – I’m working on that. I’m working on that as we speak. When these guys hand over the reins and let me run that f—— thing, it will change.”

“I’ve got to get my hands on that thing,. I’ve got to get my hands on the production and start controlling that show. If I don’t, then it is what it is.

Now it appears White will have his way.

“We had a great meeting this week – great meeting – and I’m going to be very involved in Strikeforce … This week, when we got together with them, we made a few tweaks, and we’re going to slowly tweak this thing until it’s dialed in. So I’m happy. I’m really happy. I’m happy about the Columbus show.”
