White responds to Cyborg punching Magana
Dana White: “This is a thing that the district attorney and police are handling right now. There’s way more to that than just what am I thinking about it.”

Cris Cyborg, the best fighter in women’s mixed martial arts history, lost her temper over the weekend and punched UFC strawweight Angela Magana in the face. Cyborg’s ire was apparently raised over a mean tweet by Magana, who set a pic of the Brazilian entertaining children in a cancer ward side by side with an image of Billy the Puppet from the Saw franchise.
Given that Cyborg’s father is currently fighting cancer, the jibe did not go over well. Frustrated further perhaps by previous well-publicized insults from Dana White and Ronda Rousey, on a video of the incident, Cyborg can be seen angrily confronting Magana.
“You don’t have respect for nobody,” said Cyborg.
“I can talk about who ever the f*** I want,” replies Magana.
Cyborg can be seen leaning and shouting, “F*** you, f*** you,” before hitting Magana in the face.
The police were contacted, and Cyborg was cited by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for misdemeanor battery. The district attorney will decide whether or not to pursue charges. Should that happen, Cyborg will be facing a court date; the charge carries up to six months in jail, although it is highly unlikely for a first time offense.
Magana later tweeted she was unaware the image was taken at a cancer ward.
Omfg #yourmajesty had no clue what #cyborg was doing in that photo. Saw the face and reminded me of Billy 😂😂 #DaveMeltzer #cyborgnation

On Tuesday at The Ultimate Fighter 26 tryouts in Las Vegas, UFC president Dana White was asked about the incident.
Obviously, we’re looking more into that and it’s very serious, said White. We’ll see what happens. This is a thing that the district attorney and police are handling right now. There’s way more to that than just what am I thinking about it.
Cyborg has been campaigning for a fight at UFC 214 on July 29 in Anaheim, California. Should the DA decide to go forward with charges, it is not likely Cyborg gets her wish.
Magana’s latest tweet suggests the matter court be solved on the mats instead of court.
I challenge cyborg 2 jujitsu match bc of weight differ w a gi & no time limit #illchokeyououtbitch #behringjiujitsu #idontfightinthestreets

And the Internet struck back, giving as good as Magana gave.
