White: Pettis #1 P4P fighter in the sport, if…
“Honestly, I think Anthony Pettis is the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world, if the kid can stay healthy. This kid is able to do things to people that other people can’t do.”

The UFC’s official Pound for Pound top 10 currently stands at:
1. Jon Jones
2. Jose Aldo
3. Demetrious Johnson
4. Chris Weidman
5. Cain Velasquez
6. Anthony Pettis
7. Anderson Silva
8. Ronda Rousey
9. Johny Hendricks
10. T.J. Dillashaw
However, UFC president Dana White recently appeared on The Jim Rome show and said that his choice is Anthony Pettis, who fights Gil Melendez in the co-main event of UFC 181 Saturday night. This is however Pettis’s first fight in over a year, and White added a caveat.
Honestly, I think Pettis is the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world, if the kid can stay healthy, said White as transcribed by MMAJunkie. This kid is able to do things to people that other people can’t do. The famous run-off-the-cage kick, he bounces off the cage and hits people with knees.
The thing is with him, he’s so powerful with his kicks, that once he kicks you he hurts you immediately. Human beings can’t take the kicks to the body that this kid throws.
I believe that kid is the pound-for-pound best. He’s an incredible athlete and has this style that’s very hard to defend against. That’s why I’m so excited.”
What do you think UG? Who is your P4P choice? And if it isn’t Pettis, what would he have to go Saturday to earn your nod?
