The UFC announced an organization-wide sponsorship with Reebok, but the apparel brand inked separate deals with three marquee fighters – Ronda Rousey, Jon Jones, and Conor McGregor.

Then they announced a separate deal with 4-1 featherweight Paige VanZant, 20, who has just won fight in the UFC.

Featherweight champion Carla Esparza was not impressed.

Each week UFC president Dana White sits down with web content producer Matt Parrino for The Download, to look at the news of the week, and he tried to explain why VanZant is it.

The thing is for Carla, Carla is the champ. Some things come easier for other people, said White. I don’t think that the Paige VanZant deal is a reflection on Carla negatively at all. Reebok can choose whoever they want. Chris Weidman, T.J. Dillashaw, Demetrious Johnson, Cain Velasquez, and Jose Aldo don’t have deals with Reebok. The Reebok deal is still new and Reebok can’t just run out and sign everybody.
