UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor says he wants to compete twice in 2017 – a boxing match vs. Floyd Mayweather and a fight in the Octagon. MayGregor is being negotiated by UFC president Dana White, who has come to terms with McGregor, and is now negotiating with Mayweather.

There has been speculation that McGregor, who was on welfare in 2013, might never fight again after making far more $50,000,000. During an appearance on Snoop Dogg’s GGN News White, acknowledges that is a possibility.

Let me tell you what. The other problem is if this thing goes down, Conor could make anywhere from 60 to 70 million. I mean, how do you come back again and fight for 8, 9, 10 million bucks?” asked White, as transcribed by MMA Weekly.

“He’s a smart kid, but he may never fight again. In the fight business, you gotta be hungry. You gotta be hungry. It’s hard to get up and get punched in the face every day when you’ve got $75 million in the bank.

McGregor said after his last fight that he would not fight until the birth of his son, and he got equity. The baby is here, which leaves getting a piece of the promotion. That might get him back even with over 50 million bucks in the bank.
