Yesterday, Jon Jones posted a vague updated on his Instagram saying he believed he might be returning to the Octagon ‘soon.’

According to Jones in a new post on Instagram from Sunday, it appears he’s certain that the situation surrounding his failed drug test will be resolved sooner rather than later and he hopes to fight again in the very near future.

I’m sure you guys are curious about what’s going on with this USADA situation. Obviously, I can’t get into it because it’s still pending but what I can say is that we have found out lots of really good news and I am expecting to be back in the Octagon really soon.

Jones made the message as a thank you to his supporters who have stuck by him after this latest setback that prevented him from regaining the light heavyweight title in a rematch with Cormier in July.

The update is contradictory to his current predicament following a failed drug test conducted prior to UFC 200 which kept him from fighting Daniel Cormier on the card.

However today, UFC President Dana White echoed that same sentiment in a radio interview with ESPN’s Jim Rome:

“I don’t even know if this is public. I didn’t know if I can talk about it,” White said. “Normally, I talk about anything, but when it comes to medical stuff, you can’t do it. It’s looking like Jon Jones did not take the drug everybody thought he took. It looks like it’s something else.

“I’ll let this thing play out and if that’s true and that’s what USADA and the Nevada State Athletic Commission say happened, it could look good for Jon Jones.”
