White: Jones planning move to heavyweight, might be best ever

UFC president Dana White appeared recently on ESPN’s “First Take” and discussed the return of former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
“It’s never good when bad things happen, but at the end of the day, I don’t care what sport you’re talking about or any other walk of life — everybody’s human,” said White as transcribed by Elias Cepeda for FOX Sports.
“People are going make mistakes. It’s going to happen. We deal with them, we roll with the punches. I think it matters more how we deal with these situations when they happen than when the thing is actually happening.”
“He’s actually doing really well. I don’t know if you follow him on Instagram, but he’s been in the gym,” he explained.
“You won’t believe him when you see him. He has completely transformed. This guy is jacked. He’s been lifting — like power lifting. He’s huge right now.”

The assertion that Jones was planning a move to heavyweight was made by the fighter himself during his return-to-media interview with Ariel Helwani.
“I’m totally comfortable going rounds with big guys, and now that I have the strength of a heavyweight my confidence is through the roof,” said Jones to Helwani. “I actually think I’m physically stronger than a lot of them right now, and my skills speaks for themselves.”
First Jones will fight current champion Daniel Cormier in the first half of 2016. He told Helwani he has unfinished business with Anthony Johnson? (the fight was cancelled when Jones was arrested for felony leaving the scene of an accident). And then, perhaps, he heads up.
